Connecting with local industry

Connecting Industry Gladstone, August 2025

Local industry engagement is a key priority for the Capricornia Pumped Hydro Project, and over the past few weeks our team has been connecting with local businesses to share information about upcoming opportunities and discuss how they can be involved in project delivery.

Our Project CEO, John Carr, and Project Director, Craig Aspinall, presented at the Connecting Industry luncheon in Gladstone and the Greater Whitsunday Regional Projects Forum in Mackay, hosted by the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning. These fantastic events bring together business and community leaders to talk about opportunities for regional growth and collaboration.

At the Regional Projects Forum, we heard from the Mayors of Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac councils, who shared their vision for the future and ideas to continue building the region as Queensland’s industry powerhouse. The Coordinator-General also spoke about how the Queensland Government is facilitating major projects, like Capricornia Pumped Hydro, right across the state, helping to drive growth and investment in regional Queensland.

These conversations are an important step in making sure local businesses have the opportunity to be involved and benefit from the project.

If you are looking to get involved, register your interest in supplying to the project and view public tender opportunities through our Felix Portal: https://ceh.felix.net/panel_registration/ceh_registration.
